I took it as Jess feeling this need to change Nick & Nick feeling rejected by Jess needing to change him to be w/ him so they broke up βamicablyβ but in reality neither needed to really βchangeβ they just needed communication. Either way their friendship grows stronger which is a plusπ©

I think they got afraid because talking about serious matters in their relationship put too much expectation on each other. they both wanted different things and were also ready to give them up for the other. They decided to go back to just being friends so they wouldn't have to talk about the future

2023-06-06 12:36:11 +0000 UTCIf i remember correctly a lot of fans when this aired originally were complaining about nick and jess getting together too soon and complained that season 3 was boring because of it and i think it affected the writers. upside is that the show remains consistently great despite the break up and season 4 has a lot of fan fav episodes
