It hurts on a rewatch when Brimsley and Reynolds are in the bath together talking about how if the king is well they could be together forever since theyd be living in the same place instead of the king at kew away from the queen but that's exactly what ends up happening 😭😭 if Reynolds isn't dead he's just had to be at Kew this whole time serving the king away from Brimsley and the queen😭

I love the other 2 couples but to me this relationship was more impactful and emotional because they had to face things that are out of their control. S1 & S2 main conflicts were more bc the characters choices or inaction in some cases. Charlotte and George had to overcome something entirely out of their control and something that couldn’t be treated in this time period. I think that’s why it was more impactful to see how gentle and patiently she loved him.

2023-05-10 16:10:55 +0000 UTCI cried all over again rewatching with you. Im at work bawling in my office lol. Queen Charlotte is the picture of dedication and uncompromising love. She intentionally meets him where he is at regarding his mental health and she does it with unwavering compassion. Like she said “I will stand between the heavens and the earth with you” And George desperately tried to get better so he could be the husband he thought had it be in order to receive love. It’s just a really beautiful relationship to see definitely bc we know how much she still loves him decades later and how she still protects him from public scrutiny.
