ok...I have to say something here....don't know if anyone will read it but....Clary knows Simon is a hypochondriac he is ALWAYS scared that he is sick...second...she wasn't out playing around with Jace...she was getting the cup to get her mother back!

exactly! Alberto is an amazing actor. The script just made him seem terrible, but you really see his great skills when the script gets better in season 2. That's why I love his character. Right away, he stood out to me. It just sucks that the show didn't help him much. Luckily it gets better.

I'm with you in regards to Clary. I have never liked her in the show and the books. I find her annoying. I do like Simon, his character gets better I think. But yes the Malec scene was the best part of the episode for sure. Thanks for another great reaction. Can't wait to watch the other ones

I think I disliked 1x07 more because it didn't even have the Malec saving grace and I found the Clace stuff totally uninteresting and the whole cop drama/internal affairs thing to be idiotic beyond belief (though I did like that Luke at least had something to do) but yeah, this one is a solid second worst for me. The thing about Simon is whether you love or hate his nerdy sidekick schtick or him as a character from the early episodes, if you go back and watch the acting/performance, Alberto Rosende is the only actor on the show--including far more experienced actors like Isaiah Mustafa and Harry Shum Jr--who never had that cringey "settling in" period with his character where the writing and performance were just both really bad. He totally hit the ground running with his performance, which is even more impressive because this was like his first major gig out of film school.

I agree with you, this is by far the most cliche and poorly done episode in the whole series. Magnus, Alec, and Izzy are this shows saving grace in season 1. Also THANK YOU for being one of the only reactors who is upset with Clary for ignoring Simons calls. If she was as much of Simons best friend as she says she is, she would not let a boy get in the way of that friendship, especially a boy that she barely knows anything about. Also Alec proposed to Lydia because he believes that it will help restore his family’s honor. He has a very hard time putting his wants and needs before others when it truly matters, he’s too quick to rush to every one else’s aid instead of caring about himself. And Magnus is just perfect in every way. Excited for you to get to season 2!
