Puppy Update

My friend who wanted to adopt her ultimately backed out, deciding that she’s not mentally or financially ready for a pet. I brought her today to meet with someone (a strangers application) who was interested in adopting her. Miko was a perfect angel. Friendly, calm, happy, smart (killed it displaying her obedience skills!!), got along great with their other dog (they mostly ignored each other but got some good sniffs in and she didn’t run away!). But she wasn’t adventurous or bold enough for this woman. She’s concerned that she hasn’t been socialized enough and was “very timid and fearful” when that couldn’t have been further from the truth.
So they were still interested in adopting but wanted to do a trial run without paying the Rescue the donation deposit, which the Rescue refused. Her expectations for this puppy were just ridiculous so the Rescue doesn’t want her to go to them at all, and I agree.
So back on the “market” Miko goes! I have a friend who is applying to adopt her and I will bring her to meet her dogs and cats on Friday! So maybe she’ll go to a friend after all, we’ll see!
