PROCESS VIDEO // mermaid (sped up)
Added 2022-05-10 09:52:08 +0000 UTCHere's a sped-up version of the mermaid process video I just posted! It's sped up 5 times and probably more interesting to watch for those who don't want to see every tedious detail :') Hope you enjoy! You can find the real time version here.

Hey is the transparant gradient map also possible in procreate or do you then use a soft brush in the selection or something like that? Thanks a bunch!

2022-06-20 10:10:52 +0000 UTChey olga! the gradient has a few different settings for the color, and one of them is "foreground to transparent". that's the setting i always use! here's a "how to" on where to find those settings: https://www.bwillcreative.com/how-to-make-transparent-gradients-in-photoshop/

2022-06-20 09:30:18 +0000 UTCAlso can you tell me what settings of gradient do you have? Mine just don’t work like yours… when I’m trying to do gradient it changes background color…

2022-05-11 15:41:31 +0000 UTCI meant to ask, for the shiny speckled bits on her tail in the final piece, are you just using a splatter brush for that? I didn't see that step here so I wanted to check :)

2022-05-11 14:38:06 +0000 UTChey Jan! Initially I work with 3-5 layers (lines, colors, adjustments, etc) and then eventually I merge it all together and just paint from there.

2022-05-10 14:15:42 +0000 UTCAbsolutely fantastic! I had the impression you were working on very few layers... Is that right?
