Surrendered
Added 2024-08-18 10:29:23 +0000 UTCEarlier on this summer the photographer Paula Huijer (@paulahaphotography) took a series of pictures of me in the water.
We had never met before and the only thing we knew was that the series would be around my connection with water and nature.
Before our meeting, we had discussed different types of clothes, and I was going to be wearing a dress. Once there, exploring the land and water, and sensing the connection between Paula and I, it was simply not possible to be clothed.
It was such a beautiful experience to be led by Paula and co-create this series. These pictures are two examples.
For me, they transmit a sense of surrendering, of deep love, of vulnerability by being held by the land and the environment. One is more playful, the other one feels like deep resting, and merging with sand and water.

2024-08-18 13:27:11 +0000 UTCTotally true, it allows to just Be. Not thinking about camera. However, itona certain extent I was still aware (and self conscious) of being looked and photographed by someone, which is something that doesn't happen frequently!

2024-08-18 11:04:10 +0000 UTCThese are great images, having a photographer who isn't you means you can let go and go where your body takes you. In an elemental landscape clothes would have been a superfluous distraction.
