Yesterday was a festive day across the country so the night before we drove to sleep by the sea. In the morning I had a gorgeous time at the beach, while sky was still pink. There were s couple if fishermen on their chairs, and a couple of walkers with their dogs. The temperature of the air was comfy, despite the wind. Sea was delicious and I played with the waves, and did not get in. further than my knees I floated and let myself be drifted away for a bit, testing the currents, who were very present.
I did an ecotherapy practice to myself, potent as ever, in the place that called me. Then I walked along the shore of this 3km beach, feeling grateful for this life, and having very present my nearly anniversary of moving from the UK to Asturias. It has happened so quickly, and soooo much has happened. Harvest season, fully.
The bike markes in the sand reminded me of a snake shedding its skin; an image that it's been accompanying me and I love. Lovely to see the reminder on the sand.
As a curiosity, the sand of this beach is black not because it's volcanic, but because of coal mining. In the past the coal from coal mining areas in Asturias was washed in the main river, el Nalón, which ends its journey here. It's sometimes not comfy to sit with it, with that origin... counterbalancing that aggression by loving this place is something I can do 💙
