Scottish rain+wildswimming
Added 2023-09-22 17:42:41 +0000 UTCMany of the swims in Scotland were in the rain and this is a collection of those moments... It was easy to stay in the water, but to get changed in the rain and cold is a not very glamorous art, and it needs to be quick!
Very pleasurable they were, every time was different. Some of the pictures were at dawn, just after getting up... Wakin up after a night in the dorm, with little oxigen for all of us... highly necessary immersion to clear the head! others are from the end of the day and others from a solo ecotherapy practice, when I connected with swan on the other shore and swam alongside them 💚
What are you thoughts and experiences in swimming in the rain, under the rain...? Any anecdotes to share?

I think Scotland and rain are inseperable. If you don't like swimming in the rain, you aren't going to get much swimming at all. I went back to my home town of Aberdeen just once, in my 20s. I walked along the beach which was stunning. Sadly it was freezing cold and wet. I thought it must be wonderful in the summer before I remembered that it was July...
