5 days of unplanned disconnection with the virtual world in a gorgeous place on earth, the Trossachs in Scotland.
My Ecopsychology-ecotherapy training took place there.
Getting there and leaving was an adventure in itself - a test of resilience - that involved taking too many flights, getting 1 hour sleep at Dublin's airport floor, feeling like a zombie the following day wandering around Glasgow (and resting on the ground of the necropolis with the sun on my face) until I could get a lift from a colleague. My peers, mentors and I ventured into the place that was going to be our home for the next few days of training... No signal, and my phone stoped working and did not picked the hostel's WiFi network; it felt like cosmos' way of disconnecting me by force! I normally do it voluntarily, in order to immerse myself fully in the training and the landscape but this time that was not my intention. Embracing mystery; that's one of my mottos.
I'm still on my journey home... the less glamorous side of travelling! Although the very beginning was the best, a boat to cross a few meters of river, wearing flip-flops under the pouring rain, I did not want to get my boots weat already from the start 😅
Stunning location, surrounded by two lochs connected by a river, and mountains. I saw geese, deer, rams and sheep, bats, swans, heard owl, beautiful caterpillar, touched the yummiest mosses, and swam twice a day in the loch (or three!). Ooohhhh the colour of the lochs' waters with peat, that brown-orange colour, the even sweeter flavour, the silky texture when swimming. Real caresses on the skin. The swims were deeply pleasurable, and I was surprised at the temperature, much warmer than I had imagined (apart from this morning dip, after a couple of days of heavy rain). The air temperature was definitely colder; that was a bit of a shock coming from a very warm climate. I really enjoyed the freshness, light rain at times, cold, crisp air as a whole. And loved and appreciated even more the moments when sun was present, that was a real gift.
Loch became mirror at times, reflecting the soft profile of the mountains and the fluffy clouds.
As fluffy as the bog surrounding the main loch.
Never seen such variety of mosses, I could have disappeared in them!
Very very tired, and very very grateful 🙏🏽❤️
