Mike's "no more half measures" speech is a great moment in the series for sure! It's crazy how much backstory they dump on you in one scene: he has a granddaughter, he was a cop, he always acted outside the law, he has a desire to be a good man and to protect people who can't defend themselves, he thinks about and remembers his failures. All the while it's wrapped in this fucking crazy story that makes you a little more afraid of Mike. Before this, Mike is pretty much a complete unknown. After, you have all you'll ever need to know about Mike.
