Maggot Study Drawings
Added 2024-06-26 22:41:16 +0000 UTCA recent moment in Equestria dreamscape that I will be doing a posting about in the future, but I wanted to get certain details down on paper before I forgot them.
In the Dream Realm and even in the Waking World, Applebloom has become a master of the macabre and horror. Link, Link Due to events that have happened to her in recent times, she's developed a deep profound understanding what of fear and horror is, and the young mare has learned how to leverage it as a powerful tool when necessary while performing her duties for the Royal Court. Princess Luna would even say she's uncanny at it.
Well in a future posting the Applebloom employs so good old fashioned body horror to get a mission done. This involves maggots. Lots, lots of maggots. Bucket loads of the little squirming things.
Now over the decades I have drawn many bizarre, weird, and even grotesque things. But never maggots, so decided to do some study drawings. This meant rummaging around a little on the internet, and taking a trip out the trash area to observe some of the little buggers in what I guess passes for their natural environment. So with that behind me I can check one more thing off my drawing bucket list of life.

There's effectively a royal decree declaring that Applebloom is not allowed to tell scary ghost stories to other ponies. Either in the waking world or the dream realm. Exhibit A.
