Versions of Long Seax

Further weapon studies. These are examples of a weapon often referred to as the Seax. They were very common in Germanic Europe from 5th century through to the 11th century AD. This weapon ranged in size from belt knife to short sword in length. The blade varied in design but a common feature is a single edge on longer length of the blade. Many of blades have an almost Bowie Knife appearance to them. myArmory has a good article on the Broken Back version. Link

This is the weapon that Limestone Pie is wielding in the picture We can do this the hard way.

Ah it's a blade forging reality show if you didn't know. Always get a seax coming up there once in a while. Quite fascinating watching the constructions process...especially under time pressure.

No I don't watch it.

I don't suppose you watch the show Forged in Fire at all?
