Steins;Gate is one of the more unique and complex time-traveling stories as it is an emotionally impactful story with distinctive and likeable characters (also while incorporating philosophy and real hypothetical time-traveling concepts from Physics).

2024-04-16 18:25:22 +0000 UTCSo much gets revealed in this episode, it made my head spin. 1) Lakan having Prosopagnosia (ie Facial Aphasia or Face Blindness) being one of the main reasons he's so dismissive of people is interesting, but it's a great artistic tool to withhold information from the viewer for crazy reveals. 2) Realizing one of the main reasons Meimei loves Maomao so much is to do with her affection for her mother. Also, little Meimei was probably super adorable. 3) This may have flown under the radar, but Lakan's uncle was a disgraced soft-spoken doctor from the rear palace. If he worked at the rear palace, that means he's a eunuch. Lakan's uncle is Maomao's adoptive father. 4) #3 means when Fengming accidentally poisoned Ah-Duo's daughter with honey way back when and pinned it on Maomao's step-father, she unintentionally also caused Lakan to be sent overseas and chain-reacted into everything going on now. So, yeah, Fengming REALLY screwed everything up. Great video as always, can't wait for the finale!

2024-04-16 17:43:07 +0000 UTCI'm with you, I love this show and have been tempted to read the light novels, too. I hope it doesn't take too long for Season 2. I think I saw something that said 2025, but we'll see. Before all this, Lakan came across as creepy and always felt like he was taunting Jinshi. Based on that line in this episode about her contract, I agree with you, I think Lakan thought she was bought out as a lover, not to get her out of there and to save her. I mean, I guess she technically belongs to Jinshi? I don't really know how all that works, but we both know Jinshi would never treat her badly, nor would he force her into anything she didn't want to do. Lakan didn't know all that and probably assumed she was being treated like a bought-out courtesan. As a father, I'm sure he was upset about that, not just that he wasn't able to buy her, and that's why he was making Jinshi's life so difficult. Anyways, I can't wait for you to watch the last episode! See you then.
