The lyrics of the song at the end is just perfect. "Stared at by cloudless eyes I realize My foolishness Turn into flame Let me protect your strong heart Let me light the path you walk This fire/heat I embrace in my chest No one can take away" Also, I love how Lakan was standing still as Jinshi passed by, struck with anger and surprise so much so that he wouldn't even bow to him. And the blood dripping from Maomao's leg forming a trail behind this fated duo... this scene was one of the highlights of the season.

2024-04-03 03:38:26 +0000 UTCThis was such a great episode. So lakan was shocked for multiple reasons but part of it is that some one as high up as jinshi was carrying a peasant like maomao. The nobility/ commoner divide is very stark in this setting (Something maomao loves to remind us and jinshi about) basically the whole end scene had huge political and social implications. Can't wait for the next episode!

Despite her frustration, she is grateful for his presence as it allows her to protect the person in danger. She puts aside her frustration and, in a way, allows Lakan to take responsibility for her, almost like what a father might do. 2. The shock of Jinshi being present at a royal ceremony reverberates throughout the event. 3. Maomao wanting to do all the right things for someone she didn’t even know. Despite getting hurt, her immediate concern is fixing the situation. Upon hearing Jinshi, her first reaction is, “Oh Jinshi, what are you doing here?” She then passes out in the arms of someone she trusts enough to take care of her when she needs it most. From there, Jinshi displays affection in front of all the servants and officials by carrying Maomao. 4. Lakan’s realization upon seeing Jinshi show so much affection for Maomao is eye-opening. A potential royal carrying a mere servant during one of the most private ceremonies demonstrates Jinshi’s resolve and respect for Maomao.
