2023-09-29 23:01:24 +0000 UTCVinland as a whole is not historically accurate. though it draws inspiration from the Vinland sagas, which are two Icelandic texts from the 13th century. Some of the characters in the show are real such as Thorfinn, Leif and a couple others youll meet later in the show. Since how much we know about these characters vary, some things are real events while others are made up to fit the story. for example Leif erikson finding vinland is true. But since not much else is known about other parts of his life, he was placed in Thorfinns village in iceland, as it was said Thorfinn and Leif met at some point. They also include other historical events and battles(such as the current war between England and Denmark). Though i don't think there is much else in this arc, as very little is know about Thorfinns childhood.
