This is all info I got from S1 and the movie. Getou is basically fed up with sorcerers dying for and saving common people who are not even aware they are being saved and, in some cases, even being treated like monsters by regular people for being crazy saying they can see curses/spirits (for example those two teenage girls Getou saved that follow him in the movie, they were caged up and treated like freaks for being able to see curses in their village). So basically his drive to free sorcerers from their predicament of having to fight and die for "ungrateful" non-sorcerers has turned into a deep hate for regular society, because 99% of the curses they fight are created by the emotions of people who don't even know they exist. So in a way Getou sees regular people as a curse on jujutsu society that needs to be exorcised in order to stop sorcerers (his people) from dying.
