2023-02-03 22:05:42 +0000 UTCi mean her youtube fans could be from anywhere, like other countries. not likely many of her 30k subs are from the same city in the Japan she is from.

2023-02-03 19:07:41 +0000 UTCthere definitely is enough manga material for a season 2 and it's been somewhat of a hidden gem i don't see why it won't have a s2

2023-02-02 17:56:58 +0000 UTCYes, ”Hakkei” also is the name of a song by the ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION. So I do agree there is a reference there. Good point. If Bocchi goes from Kanazawa-Hakkei to Yokohama by Keikyu and then transfers to JR Shonan-Shinjunku line, she can make it to Shimo in about 90 minutes. Still it's hell of a commute each way!

2023-02-01 16:14:37 +0000 UTCActually is a double reference, as always. Hakkei means the place and is a reference to a song. All episode titles refer to an aspect of the episode and a song title. I was amazed when I found about this, but Bocchi did said she took like two hours comuting to school. Damn. 😨

2023-02-01 16:08:12 +0000 UTCKanazawa-Hakkei is the name of a district (and the train station) in Kanazawa Ward in the City of Yokohama. A Zen monk from the late 17th century is said to have named the area after being impressed with how picturesque the views (8 of them!) from there were back then. The title of this episode only points to the location and there is no other meaning to it (when a Japanese person hears the word "Hakkei," it just means this place).

2023-02-01 15:40:44 +0000 UTCAlso, I think it's really funny how Bocchi struggles to think of ways to get five people to come to her performance when she has thirty THOUSAND fans on her YouTube channel. If posted a short video saying "Hey, I'm in a band, come see us play live," she'd single-handedly sell out the venue.

2023-02-01 14:58:24 +0000 UTC"Hakkei" means eight views in the meaning of the 8-way street, she was playing at. Kikuri mentions that it was Kanazawa-Hakkei, the name of the street.

2023-02-01 06:19:09 +0000 UTCI have to admit rewatching this episode again with the street performance was a lot more emotional this time. Maybe it was the mood I was in at the time of the rewatch, but the roller coaster of emotions hit me watching Hitori overcome her anxiety. I love Kikuri, she’s that drunk rock guru that has a abundance of wisdom and experience. Not too stray too far, but that’s a drinking buddy I wish I had lol. Halfway through now! I can’t wait for the next one! :)
