Poll for Warning Notifications in The Interim Domain

As mentioned in update #2, we have a decision point coming up in 0.05.0 that will result in one characters story-line coming to a Bad End.

It occurs to me that there are two ways to present this: offer a warning to the player or not. Usually I believe that players should live with their choices, but I also wouldn't someone to make a decision that requires them to go back two releases to undo because they didn't like the way things play out.

On the flip-side, throwing up a big warning can break immersion and I want to avoid that where possible. So, with that said, we have a poll for patrons to gauge how you feel on the matter.

Thanks for your interest and feedback.

It's likely the way I'm going with the results of the poll being the default selection.

Is it not possible to have a 'show hints/bad choices' option in the game preferences? That way players can choose this for themselves based on how they want to play the game.

There's not a Game Over, per se, but these would show up before a major choice that would send one of the girls into their bad ending.

With a warning, it kinda makes the game-over pointless. Who would make the game-over choice willingly? A few curious ones maybe. At the same time, early game-over are pretty frustrating. I'm not a fan of that in general. I think it's related to the fact we didn't help one of the girls. If it is, it forces us to help them. So why giving the choice to not help them if it leads to a game-over.

This is something I considered. In the end I may add this to the Options and set the default based on how the vote rolls.

I agree with the show hints

an option to show hints would be ideal. But if someone wants for warning they will often use a guide

I'm playing the game because I enjoy the story (and the smut). I probably wouldn't notice if the game removed *all* choices, so I'd definitely appreciate a warning before I accidentally do something stupid that messes up my playthrough. Anything that prevents me from seeing content is something I would not mind help avoiding.

I don't want this choice to cost you significant time. Would it be possible to add something in preferences (key decision warning = yes/no) so each person can choose some potential loss of immersion if they do not make detailed saves prior to what feel like important decision points? Regardless of which way you choose to go, thanks for giving us a chance to provide input!

It's a persisted var and conditional check. Basically an in game walkthrough variant. The only issue is that since the game is 3 releases in, you have to put temporary questions in at this point to ask the user if they want hints or not. Then you can remove it in a release or two and just leave it at the beginning of the game.

If this is not too hard to implement. Then I think it would be the best option too.

Caio

Add an option in preferences to turn on game hints. This way the user can choose whether or not they want it.
