Monster's Inc Update

So unfortunately I've not made, well any progress at all one the actual edit of the video. Here's why.

So as covered in the Last Month Podcast (yes, we succumbed to the inevitable and started a podcast over on DarkSquidge), my contract with another job role expired and while I am still working with them as a freelancer and there's hope I can return in some capacity, I've dedicated a week to producing a showreel with video editor KaiPiez. Now that's done I can begin approaching places and contacts to try and find a new writing job. I am incredibly grateful of the support I get here on Patreon, I need to secure a greater reliable source of income, and ideally in the career path I'm on. If by a few months time nothing develops, I may have to re-evaluate everything for the sake of my family.

Also, we just had Vidcon London this past weekend, so as I manage and organise Tom's table, wrangling staff, printing, merch orders, transportation etc. that became quite time consuming.

Also Also, a technical problem. I had bought the Blu-Ray of Monster's Inc for the sake of footage for the video, specifically to zoom into one shot in greater detail than the DVD can manage, but ran into a stupid situation... my PC doesn't play Blu-Rays. I can't capture the footage! I can't stream it from, say, a PS4 because it comes packed with capture prevention tech to stop that. I'm exploring workarounds and - no joke - I may have to point a camera at a TV just to get the shot!

EDIT: Oh and I hit a sad time because the Sonic video super tanked... It has performed really really badly and I became really really sadly. I know you shouldn't fixate on views too much but when the reward doesn't match the level of effort put into something it suuuuuuuuucks. All I can do it try and bounce back.

In good news though, I finally have a new functioning laptop so I have greater freedom to edit. But yeah, what was meant to be a super-fast turnaround video has STILL taken forever to do! AAAAASCREAM!
