Commissions are Revamped and OPEN!

Hi Fidgeters,

After almost a year of catching up with my commission backlog, I'm finally done, and commissions are open again!

You'll note that my commission price is significantly higher than it was in the past. This is for two main reasons:

First is the amount of work each of these commissions ended up being relative to the cost. The previous price for commissions was balanced around 3500-word chapters/stories, but all but one of my recent commissions have been over 10,000 words, and a couple have been over 20,000.

With the amount of time each of these commissions takes, the price didn't reflect the amount of work I was doing. I could have artificially shortened the stories, or nickel-and-dimed my commissioners, but that feels dishonest, and I want to write each story until I'm satisfied with it, however long that ends up being. I've asked around the writing community, and I believe that the new price is competitive for what you're getting (and significantly cheaper than what some authors ask).

The second reason is related to the first. At the old price, commission requests were piling up to the point that there was no hope that I could keep up with them, which ended up meaning six-plus month wait times for my commissioners. That's an unreasonably long amount of time, and I'd like to thank everyone who was patient enough to wait for me to get to them.

I'm hoping that the new rate will fix both problems. At the new rate you'll be guaranteed at least 7500 words, giving me the flexibility to flesh out your stories properly without worrying about the time it's taking me. Also, I'll be limiting my wait list to 3 people at a time, so that nobody on the list has to go longer than a few months before I get to their story. When the wait list is full, I'll close commissions until a spot opens back up.

For anyone who would like to have a say in what I publish next, but isn't able to commission the next chapter of their favorite story, remember that Fidget Fiends get to vote on every fourth story that I release. I usually have at least 8 different stories that can be voted on at a time, so that's another way to influence which chapters will release next. For anyone interested in going this route, you can keep your eyes open for when the poll goes up and join the Fidget Fiend tier for that month (which will also give you access to all of the monthly In-Progress story posts!).
