I don't forsee interuptions with Love Next Door but NO LOVE NO GAIN will be affected because my wife who is a nurse has to cover the nurusing home during the hurricane, this means she will be sleeping there, and i won't add anything to her plate when she returns until she is ready...but we WILL resume No Gain No Love maybe Monday or something

The ads sell it as a generic love story. They don't mention that it's a thriller, law drama, supernatural, comedy, and romance. Great and efficient drama, one of the most efficient dramas I ever seen. Why i would recommend Start-Up. Same writer and Similar efficient writing. Great relationships. As well rounded as WYWS. As I also mentioned before, Suzy plays the exact same character with almost the same backstory (but they twist the backstory enough to be one of the best origin flashbacks I've seen)

Sorta like a Korean Camp Rock. One of Suzy's not so great performances, because it was her first role, she plays a generic love interest, and she hadn't cultivated her Uncontrollably Fond persona yet, which we see in WYWS. I'm team Suzy for life and I agree she was average there. IU steals the show. Kim Soo Hyun steals the spotlight too being the non-Kpop guy outshining top tier singers. I would not recommend Dream High 2. Different writer and poor writing that felt like a cash grab and vehicle to launch some careers.

I her voice is very recognizeable, because she always adds some soul (or Seoul. Sorry for the bad joke) to whatever song she's doing.

Suzy is always adorable and quirky and cute in everything she's in, and Jongsuk's range is ridiculous. But really, every actor is five stars.

It's not a sci-fi crime-thriller like those 3 shows. Dream High is a school drama about a bunch of talented kids who go to a special school for music in the pursuit of their dreams to become singers. The drama, lessons, and interpersonal relationships are still well written. (Also, the OST is fun.) It pretty much catapulted the acting careers of some of the top stars that we see now including: ~ Suzy (from Miss A and this show, of course) ~ Kim Soo Hyun (ML from It's Okay to Not Be Okay and Queen of Tears) ~ Taec-yeon (from 2PM and SML from Vincenzo) ~ Eunjung (from T-ara) ~ IU (soloist and FL from Hotel del Luna and Moon Lovers) ~ Wooyoung (from 2PM)

I don't usually cry during shows but I cried buckets when I saw the Inspector running up and realized who he was to Jae-Chan and Hong-Joo. Such a touching moment. And it's rare to have moments like that reserved for a platonic, non-blood related relationship. But this writer absolutely nails interpersonal relationships so well. She treats them with the same level of weight as romance relationships which is why they always feel so authentic. The expert way this writer, Park Hye-Ryun, combines the mystery, thriller, romance, sci-fi, family drama, and comedy elements to give us an entire package is so incredible. She really is my favorite KDrama writer. She also wrote the script for Pinocchio (same main actor), I Hear Your Voice (same main actor), Dream High (same main actress), Start-Up (same main actress), Castaway Diva, and Page Turner (starring Kim So-Hyun, the little bro's girlfriend). She has actors she really likes working with which you'll see with her shows sometimes. Pinocchio, I Hear Your Voice, and Dream High are also all in my top rated list. The writer has an especially deft pen when it comes to antagonists/villains. She writes really complex and interesting antagonists in stories that usually present some kind of moral dilemma for the protagonist and the audience, which I appreciate. IDK if anyone has told y'all yet but just FYI...every episode in this show is titled after a famous movie. Some are US movies, some South Korean, one is Taiwanese, another is German, etc. Even the name of the show "While You Were Sleeping" is a reference to the 1995 Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman romance movie. Wait until after you finish the whole show to avoid spoilers but if you go to the show's main Wikipedia page, there are links to the articles for each movie reference in the Notes.

2024-10-08 17:38:13 +0000 UTCso there are rules for certain professions, like how director brought it up; you cannot be a pilot if you are color blind, and in korea you apparently cannot be a cop if you are color blind. i'm not sure what the rules are in the states for police officers, but i think the pilot rule is international, since they use so many color coded things. also, inspector choi recognized them. you guys talked about it earlier how he always knew where jae chan lived because he saw him in his visions. well when he had his vision of their deaths he also wrote down who they were and that they died. this was definitely one of the better plot twists/surprise reveals i've seen in a kdrama. the actor who plays the inspector, kim won hae, is also in death's game as the nameless reincarnation. he had me balling.
