This season been boring as heck and it's not even about the lack of action.... the character drama doesn't feel there and the politics honestly are a mismatch for the isekai setting where MCs are so powerful nothing said in the meeting really matters in the end. I do like seeing your perspectives on things but until the show picks up imma put watching these on hold. imma gocatch up on some of your Kdrama reactions now :)

As I said in my other comment, assume Rimuru is taking in information even when it doesn't look like it. This episode actually showed some of that background. It's hard to explain without spoiling.

2024-06-23 10:33:19 +0000 UTCI think Lee said it best during Arifureta, "I think we're supposed to assume Hajime is always doing something in the background" As much as I absolutely love the LN's and the worldbuilding and character interactions, I think the anime could benefit from a little bit more of the "Always doing something in the background". I genuinely feel for the watchers that saw season 1, all the cool fights and expected that to be the show. When Tensura was never really about those cool fights. As a reader, those cool fights were always the cherry on top of a sundae of excellent writing. However, in anime form, it doesnt always work out as well as it did in novel form.

I don't what your rules are yet so I won't say too much, but slavery was mentioned last episode; they said elves were being illegally kidnapped from the forest; and you know how Rimuru feels about elves. And a similar situation is when he said he didn't like the practice of summoning children, and Leon said it was Rimuru interfering with that. So Rimuru does care what's happening in other nations. And with the recent declaration that Rimuru and Lubelius were not at odds, with the influence that the Church has over the West, with Falmuth now essentially becoming a close friend and ally, Rimuru's reach has gotten longer. He just doesn't announce what he's thinking all the time. You can be sure that at least Raphael is taking it all in. He's also got a whole undercover agency led by Souei; and sometimes things are indirectly affected. None of what I said is meant to be anything but some resources that Rimuru has, that may or may not be utilized in any particular situation. It's just that people tend to forget all the pieces that exist.

2024-06-22 23:59:26 +0000 UTCWhen the meetings are about setting worldbuilding civ VI goals rather than hyping up enemies that'll get steamrolled in 1 ep anyway, it's much more enjoyable imho. The nicer pacing and cutesy slime transition cuts, if you told me they fired the single shot meeting boardroom animation team and brought in the slime diaries team I'd believe it Tournament x sportsbetting arc time boys $$$
