Just to correct what director said in the beginning, the King is not part of the Kim family. Although, the Grand Dowager is a Kim, since she is a woman, they don't take her last name. All Joseon Kings are from the Lee (or sometimes spelled as Yi) bloodline. .

2024-06-21 22:21:36 +0000 UTCAbout the nose bleed part last episode, the king was known in history books for being "perverted". So Mr Queen basically said in that scene that the history books were wrong. The king did did not get nose bleeds out of being a pervert, but out of overworking himself.

2024-06-21 01:25:44 +0000 UTCI think it was in the prior episode but when they are selecting concubines they are reviewing on the families and that they should back up the king so they would provide his wings. But in this we have that they have sided with huge Kim’s as they are the 3 men that tell him no he can’t have his royal guard handle this and that was the cherry on top that he has no power on his team. Adorkable was right the king did go off on his own when he said someone is trying to ruin the banquet I need to go alone and he storms off which we supposed to the kitchen figuring out the food but he could of done something else. We have his feathered guard touch the flowers or feathers on the banquet decor that was weird. Also the scarred face monk passed by it. We have the queens cousin leaving for a while. We also have the queen absent which we know where she was but they made reference to her not being present and smelling like oil. I haven’t watched the next episode so I’m only speculating

Mr Chef at this point is focused on looking out for himself so I wonder if that was Soyoung's emotions surfacing only to be pushed down by Mr Chef. After all, he's already told Soyoung that as long as he is present, he is going to control the body

2024-06-19 04:32:41 +0000 UTC@5:25 I thought somebody might have explained this already but in Korean Culture nose bleeds are a sign of overworked or over studying. I know is crazy but even in some dramas you see the parents proud their kids have nosebleeds because it means they are super dedicated to their studies. (Sky Castle for example) So I think that’s the context of what you’re taking about. But don’t quote me on it only relaying what I have seen.

Remember ep 1 of Queen Tears when they Hong family used the same logic for the male in laws to saying men used to do the cooking for noble families
