2024-04-16 02:12:47 +0000 UTCI was raised by my grandmother, so by middle school, she could no longer whip me with the belt, but I was scared of it for a while. It was rare instances, so I don't really have scars from it, but hitting your kids isn't an answer, as decades of studies have shown. All we can do is promise to be better for our kids and try our best to deal with our own trauma in a healthy way I get the visceral response to your parents, and the hardest part when it comes to faith is recognizing that even people who behave badly can be right about certain things, but squaring those things emotionally isn't easy, even if you understand them rationally.

It’s actually the only thing that shakes me up mentally is my old childhood memories lol. So anyways. I just can’t accept people that abusive could be correct about religious beliefs. Just not good role models. I do find Adorkable’s dad a great father figure. Whenever she hypes him up. Its well deserved. He was good to me and helped me out at my lowest. Good man.

Also, you're Jamaican, and I know many foreign parents can be incredibly strict and old-fashioned in how they raise their kids because it's how they were raised, so I can see how that can cause tension. African Americans can be the same, but that's usually Baptists. I'm from Cali, and even though I had structure, as I got older, I had a ton of freedom and was able to question my religion without threats from my youth pastor/pastor, which was good for me in the long run. I don't go to church either; got work, lol.

So my daughter has a chance later to make her own choice. AdorkableNerd’s dad is also a Pastor. And Directors dad is a deacon. I guess if i had to say why i dont go to church. Basically tied to my father in some capacity. I think hes wrong about so many things he taught me and i am finding myself but i am also busy so i dont think about my own faith but i like talking about theology. I dont care about proving docrtrine. I just like to know what your faith contains for education purposes as i do history and dope quotes

2024-04-16 01:17:51 +0000 UTCWe probably have a similar background: growing up in the church, attending Bible study on Wednesdays, etc. I'm unsure of our denomination, but we were definitely Protestants. I became an atheist and was one for over a decade before recently finding my way back to Christianity, so my relationship with religion is complex, to say the least. But a show like X-Men got me to think about something like that so I'm grateful for it even if the interpretation isn't for everyone.

Nightcrawler is catholic so with that in mind Jesus dying on the cross to forgive humanity's sins can be taken as the greatest act of love ever displayed. Adorable looked unsure about it, but from that perspective, I think it can be argued Nightcrawler made a lot of sense.

Nightcrawler with the dopest powers, Emma Frost being savage af, Scott acting out because of losing his son, Jean and Madeline both in pain, Cable warning his Mom, Magneto when he spoke in German there at the end, Gambit being a top tier boss! DAMN.

Plus from their conversation it does seem as if they’re still in a relationship but like you said it’s just very weird and complex. As far as just conversing about things like their child . I don’t have any issues with that and I don’t think Jean would’ve either but it’s the fact that it turned romantic and intimate and the fact that he deliberately hid it from her that’s the issue as far as I’m concerned

They are in a weird limbo state of their relationship, as are him and Madelyn to be honest because they didn't officially split either, she just left. Scott is mourning his son and the only one he can talk to about it is Madelyn because she's going through the exact same thing. He can't talk to Jean as that would be an awkward conversation seeing as it's the son he SHOULD have had with her, and it would bring up a lot of traumatizing things for her as well and Scott would feel guilty for making her suffer that just to listen to him go on about his son.

Logan put a stop to it because he knew it didn't mean anything, in the end she will always choose Scott, had Logan had this attitude when he first decided he liked her, then we wouldn't have this dumbass love triangle, so while he gets points, I still heavily side eye him. Scott's hanging on by a thread, that interview basically showcased that he's mentally not there. I don't blame him, since Xavier died, Scott has been getting hit with bullshit after bullshit and the catalyst being losing his son and ONLY child. Scott and Jean still love each other, they are just having a communication issue, but they will most likely fix their issues by the end of this season.

That’s a next level existential terror Im not trying to lessen what cyclops is going through, but a whole month of ignoring Jean is just silly, I’m not saying he has to open up to her about everything or try to be there for her extensively, but the cold shoulder is just begging for things to get worse

He's mourning his son and he doesn't know how to communicate that to Jean, because of the trauma it brings for her, because Nathan was supposed to be their son but instead it's his son with her clone. That's not something that he could just say to her, but Madelyn is going through the same pain so it was easier for him to talk to her. Their whole problem right now is just a communication issue, but BOTH of them are not communicating, it isn't just on Scott. They'll be fine once they actually sit and talk.

I get it’s a complex situation and he has a kid with the clone, but flat out ignoring Jean and not even trying to be there for her is such a bad look. The only reason she even kissed Logan in a moment of confusion is because she’s basically being neglected at her most vulnerable time

Having the memories is also not at all the same as feeling them. Jean shouldn't have kissed Logan though. I’ll only argue that what Scott did was a little bit worse considering he’s been doing for about a month and deliberately keeping it a secret from Jean. As for the whole rogue, gambit, magneto love triangle. I like both pairings however I’m starting to become more partial to the pairing of magneto and rogue just because their relationship fascinates me lol
