Do you guys know the origin of the name in regards USA? My Grandfather named me this and he said its from Tyrone Powers. He liked the actor and insisted to name me as such. People tend to think of me as African American due to this, but im pure SEA :P

That's a really typical Jamaica ln thing telling children to speak "properly" ie the language of the people that colonized/enslaved our ancestors 🙄 and I always found it a crazy concept hearing people say it. Like there is nothing wrong patois. We know how to switch just like Black Americans code switch. We xan learn both languages. Some of this "social programming" been around for centuries so I understand why it's so hard for people to unlearn this shit. And I had a similar experience with the "dawg" thing though my mother only used to she's "not a dog" lol.
