But I acknowledge there isn’t much i can expect him to do about slaves and I also acknowledge he doesn’t have much choice but girls that match his bodies age. Anytime you’re ready to criticize an action you also need to have the solution. Otherwise its easy to judge haha. I did it too before having to consider the solutions.

2023-08-17 09:42:34 +0000 UTCWell I was pointing out there is no slave system fully implemented like in Ancient times (Roman Empire etc.) or slaves bought from Africa and brought to different continents like Europe or America. Or Vikings raiding coastal villages and bringing people from there as slaves to work on their own villages. This slavery is what YBRL and they mostly react to. In our current times there is a version of slavery still and in my mind will always be in some form. Even human trafficking is a thing, we as humans are cruel to each other this is just a fact. But at the same we humans are very nice and kind to each other so there is both sides of the coin always. As for there are more slaves today is only because % human population size is much bigger at the same time you can say there are more people that can live their lives free and however they want with very easy access to technological advantages, like I said there is always a both sides of coin in things. There is no utopia for humankind to live in were all can be happy and smiling all the time, only thing everyone can do is to live their lives morally correct and not help people doing wrong things in the small ways you can.

The statuatory mechanisms that allowed chattel slavery don't really exist anymore, but even that form hasn't fully been erradicated. People are still being bought and forced to work.

2023-08-16 02:14:22 +0000 UTCI'm from a culture (Louisiana) where there were far more black slave owners than white ones because people accepted that was just the way things were so even after most of the population was mixed it wasn't really opposed and poor black families would even take advantage by selling their children to work for free black tradesmen where they could learn a trade and then buy their freedom because Louisiana had guaranteed pay and rights for slaves. I didn't find Rudy's acceptance of it even kinda strange TBH.

My only point is that we don't have slavery in our world now, but in that fictional story they do and I am 99% certain nobody is arguing slavery isn't bad thing, but what they are arguing is that people go ballistic about it and want Rudy just get himself killed.
