It’s really hard to keep track of details when the story has been going for almost 25 years. Yes the person that sat on the empty throne is named IMU. I’m sure someone in the comments has brought up why oda chose this goofy aspect of luffy’s power but I’ll reiterate, oda was tired of the seriousness of fights and that every fight had to be bigger and more serious so he chose this because he thought it was fun to draw and he didn’t care what the audience thought he just wanted to have fun doing what he loves. Sure, there MAY be a spoiler in it if you slow it down and analyze every frame but you are truly being robbed a portion of the experience being gate kept from them. During this episode when Kaido and Luffy had their clash at the end; they played "Over the top", which was the first wano opening out of 4. For most people, including my GF who is a casual anime watcher, when the song played got very nostalgic and the moment hit. I could see for you two it did absolutely nothing. May have even felt out of place. I say either just start watching the openings, you could even start with the most recent or the next. Or put up a poll. How is the community going to watch openings themselves but tell you not to enjoy them yourself. Its stupid.

But also because one piece is all about inherited will. It comes up all the time characters carrying other characters will forward when they die. So I think Luffy is just very very similar to joyboy but is not literally joyboy.

So I think Joyboy was a giant with the same fruit as Luffy and his will carries on within it. That’s why in the last ep they said “zoan fruits have a Will of their own” or something like that. The real question tho imo is, is Sun God Nika real? Like did he actually exist at one point? Also, I’ll say that while I don’t think Ace and Sabo ever shared memories or anything like that. When Sabo first ate the fruit, he was able to perfectly use Ace’s move without ever seeing it so that’s something.
