That aside, regarding the Thor-related names in the show, Thorkell and Thorgil are still going for the Kill, where else Thors and the adult Thorfinn have moved on and have no enemies.

He showed the English he has the capability to take over them but chose to relinquish much of his control and thus gained their trust. I know Thorfinn did alot but I think some ppl give him TOO much credit. Sure he hit Canute with the talk no jutsu but it worked because Canute knew him personally so seeing this new Thorfinn gave Canute hope that ppl can change.
