2023-03-25 00:29:31 +0000 UTCIn the manga it's kind of implied that Misuzu's dad is pretty much like Tanabe. He's clingy and super deredere towards his wife and daughter. And since all the girls are pretty much mirrors of their moms in this show it would make sense for Misuzu to end up with someone like Tanabe somewhere down the road.

2023-03-24 22:51:55 +0000 UTCBased on the ED from episode 10, I presume Tanabe is going to be gifted Misuzu in the finale (by the laws of the rom-com, "Pair the Spares"). That annoys me, mostly because of the utter lack of development with their relationship and her complete disinterest in him. I was mildly hopeful that this episode, which previewed him getting a lot more screentime that he previously had, would do something to address that. After all, he seems like a decent friend to Jun, so maybe he's alright and time constraints just didn't allow for a proper build up. So, what does this episode give me? Him understanding Misuzu is not acting like herself at all (and we as the audience know that she's wracked with guilt and not thinking straight) and deciding, "Oh man, how close to her redline can I get without crossing it?" Then getting disappointed when he finds out he could have taken even greater advantage of her. I sincerely hope the series avoids a massive own goal and keeps him out of the finale.
