This is where the pacing is thrown off IMO In this ep - Bell and Ryu moved one room over, escape skull sheep & juggernaut. The crew continues battle floor boss. No real progression beyond supposedly losing characters we know that aren't dead. So much of the picture was just reactions, surprised, angry and despair faces. Pacing issues mostly cuz of so much overlap between eps, re-playing the last scene each time for start of new ep really just drags things out. So we get less than 10min storytelling for each group, not enough time.

2024-05-21 23:35:19 +0000 UTCThe 'jump in front of and push out of way' saving trope is so overplayed and doesn't have any emotional impact for me anymore They did it in the Made in Abyss manga recently too :/ feels so ham-fisted, forced story progression. We always know in such bad circumstances that they're gonnna be alright, at least in DanMachi

2023-01-22 06:18:42 +0000 UTCafter seeing whats going on with Syr in my rewatch of your past seasons, her situation with Bell is so obvious to me now that i know whats going on with her in the novels and what not.... i cant unsee it at this point and when the anime catches up to that point itll make everyone feel stupid. fantastic writing by the animation studio and author for this btw

Also that there was a safe room that they could go to Bell would not have know any of that. Plus he has no food and water she can use magic to help with that. She just wanted to die because she felt that all this was ger fault. That Bell wouldn't even have been there if not trying to save her.
