Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto's bankai was absolutely incredible. But I'm a little disappointed that a man with so much experience didn't realize that he was fighting a fake enemy and not the real Quincy king, on the other hand I understand that he wanted to know the requirements to steal the bankai. Yhwach the Quincy king said that they have no requirements to steal bankai, but the person stealing the bankai needs to be as strong as the person they are stealing the bankai from (or stronger), he said that is the only one that is enough strong enough to steal his bankai.

2023-01-14 02:17:00 +0000 UTCHow was he supposed to know it wasn't Yhwach? Royd's powers allow him to perfectly imitate another person's memories and personality. Add in Yhwach probably gave him a power boost and Yama's anger then it makes sense that he was fooled.

2023-01-13 22:56:55 +0000 UTCi wont argue hes a dumb 1000 yr old commander but i think we can cut him some slack in this case. this was a fight he was going to lose no matter what. he simply had no information and no idea what Yhwach had in preparation. The old Yhwach was defeated by his Bankai without even releasing south or north. Plus, its been 1000 years so Yamamoto has changed his fighting style. Defeating Yhwach easily wasnt supposed to be odd as long as he had his bankai.
