"It's like a fucking sauna in here, I need to cool off," I groan, feeling a little overwhelmed. All summer I've ignored my fractured friendship with Eyal, but now that I'm finally back at school everything is starting to feel real.

I drop my boxers and head to the bathroom, flicking on the warm toned lights. Stopping at the mirror, I stare at myself with exaggerated critique. Without realising, I'm judging every imperfection, every hair out of place, and the lack of emotions that should be showing.

It's hard to feel anything positive, especially in this place. So over the years I've shut down little by little, and with Eyal gone he's taken the last piece with him.

"Come on, Harry. Just smile..." I say, forcing my lips to curl upward. "Don't let them see you sweat. Shut off your emotions and just get through this year... then you're free."

I give one last hesitant glance at my reflection before ripping away and getting into the shower. I turn on the water and step right in, not too bothered that it wasn't all that warm. The cool droplets felt nice, it was relaxing in the midst of the late summer heat.

The water runs down my body, gliding over my chest and stomach and pattering against my neck. Droplets race down my back to the very base, tickling the skin as they go.

Running my fingers through my hair, I hear a faint *click* as the dorm room door slowly opens. I can't see who it is from here, but it must be my new room-mate.
