I'm aware that it's written by a woman but I don't want to label that as the reason for why the characters are written so well. Rather, I discussed it as a testament to her skill as a writer in comparison to another series that I feel failed. Another reason I didn't link it to gender is because I feel that Isayama writes women very well and I've read many male authors that also create very realistic and relatable female characters. I don't want to make it a gender issue but rather what it truly is - a writing issue :)

They appeared in episode 9 in the background when Major Armstrong was picking up Winry at the train station. Also pointing out that FMA was written by a woman (Hiromu Arakawa) so it has more developed female characters compared to a lot other manga that are typically written by men, for young boys.

I think it's all totally fine. Tho yeah we could all have tendency to be defensive about our faves. 😆 Interesting theories!
