Previous video was deleted as there was an issue so had to correct it!

Please no confirming or explaining anything mentioned in the video. Let the show tell me or let me figure it out!

If I have any questions that I feel are unanswered or I'm still confused I will ask them when I finish the show! :)

You know, my interpretation of the spear scene was that when Fritz ordered her to "get up and not die" she, being a slave, had to obey that order so that's why she continued "living" in the paths. She was condemned to by the king.

Man, I've seen Attack on Titan like 30 freaking times through, watched a lot of great people react to it, it never even occurred to me that Eren's care and concern for History went beyond their friendship or whatever, it might be the memories of Frieda's sisterly love influencing the emotions. The theory makes too much sense in an obvious way in a manner that adds more layers of characterization to these characters.

David Caine

Because you can still see the past memories of the people you consume. Like how Eren was able to SEE Frieda in S3. Like how Eren asked Armin if he had seen Bertholdt. Armin also had that connection to Bertholdt after eating him in S3. When they become a part of you, you take on aspects of them. That's already been established. I never said future memories. But the past? They can see through who they've consumed. It's been heavily hinted. Also please read what I said on the post to not correct me. Let me have my theories. Otherwise where is the fun in a first time watch?!

A benchmark episode, so exciting you're finally here. Lots to unpack, I love a lot of the details other commenters have pointed out, like how this perfectly retroactively explains why so many pure tians looked deformed or goofy, each one was at the end of the day a sand castle creation of a traumatized little girl enslaved for millenia. You said a couple really insightful things during the episode that some viewers still don't process even after finishing the series. This flashback did take the first step towards elucidating what I meant a few episodes ago when I said that Historia's absense from the narrative somewhat grows on me over time and more rewatches. Historia is symbolically following in Ymir's footsteps now both in becoming a mother for seemingly utilitarian reasons/under coercive circumstances, as well as in losing agency in her own life despite holding immense power. In that way Historia's absense from the narrative is serving a function, it's a shitty circumstances for her as well as the audience. And ofc I will have yet more to say about our queen as the story progresses :D

Wanna know the saddest part, even though Eren and Zeke spent years going through Grisha’s memories, notice the centipede (hallucigenia) connected with Eren’s head the moment Zeke caught it. Because of the way time works in the paths, the 2,000 years Ymir spent trapped there, was possibly billions if not trillions of years for her. And she spent all of that time doing the one thing she knew how to do, be a slave. Worst life of the show BY FAR.

Funny how she uploaded this right when we are about to have WW3 😂😂😂. This kind of timing is crazy. Another great reaction tho!!

I absolutely love that Title foreshadowing: S1E1: To You in 2,000 years S4E21: From You, 2,000 years ago

Dagmar Makara

The question of whether she was just declared dead or she really did die (of her own volition or otherwise) is new to me, but it does stay true to the theme of Ymir being a slave, and she would have had to be at least just brain dead with her organs still functioning or on the verge of shutting down for the parasite to still be alive when she was eaten, otherwise it would have also perished with her. After this, I really highly recommend watching the ending credits for Season 2. Also, while I still agree that Historia is underutilized as a character in this season, putting her pregnancy in parallel to this episode does justify that decision. To put it in George Lucas's words, "it's like poetry; it rhymes."

why are you saying that eren can see Frieda's memories? Eren couldn't have access to the founding titan memories nor use its power unless through someone of royal blood. In the end Ymir gave him acces to the founding Titan but still only through Ziek

I mean hey, at least they can still repopulate because they weren't sterilised 😂 "Fuck it. I'll wipe out most of the world and then we'll just pop out more kids in peace time" - Eren Jaeger probably.

My favorite line from eren is "theres no way in hell i'd go along with such a messed up plan" to zeke and then proceeds to do the most literal evil thing you could possibly do, omnicide LMAO. Great plan :D

david

Media is open to interpretation. I'm allowed my theories.

Dr Sophie Darling Reacts

You're over thinking the Eren and Mikasa thing. To paraphrase Eren, "I've always been this way. If someone wants to take away my freedom than I'll take theirs first". In short, that was and has always been Eren being Eren. He is just wired a bit different.
