May 1st - General Update & Future Things

===QUALITY VS. QUANTITY=== Over the last month I've tried out a more liberal way of going about creating content for my Patreon supporters, and I think it's been a good exercise and learning experience. I think it is important, however, to learn something from the bad side as well. While the volume of artwork is significantly higher than previous months, the quality is lower. This also makes one of the benefits of the $5+ reward tier (in-progress shots) superfluous. So this month, I'm going to try to shift my focus back towards quality once more. I'm still going to be taking my cues from the suggestion form as far as what to work on, but I'm going to try to pick something and bring it to a higher level of polish than what I've produced in April. ===TUTORIAL VIDEO=== I really wanted to try to get the first one out in April since you guys hit the milestone, but I think that was a bit unrealistic. Since I've already set the precedent that I do patreon streams in the later weeks of the month, I think I'll use the early weeks to work on the tutorial video. (Which, by the way, will be about getting started drawing.) ===ART BUNDLE=== One issue I've been dealing with is the fact that Patreon resizes any art I upload that's too big. But I think I've hit upon a solution. What I'd like to do sometime soon is create a bundle of all/most of the finished (ie not the progression images) art uploaded to Patreon thus far. It would be a self-contained web page in a zipped folder with a sort of gallery of the art and any accompanying text I've written for them. Then, I could make this bundle available (for free) to my Patreon supporters up until that point, and remove most of the older art from Patreon. I could even sell the bundle to non-Patreon supporters. I'm interested in hearing what you guys have to say about this idea. I don't think it'd step on any toes, but I'd rather hear that from you rather than just assume it to be true. ===MAY PATREON STREAMS=== The Patreon streams for May will most likely occur on the 16th, 23rd, and 30th. Exact times will be posted closer to the dates.

Concerning the quality versus quantity argument, an option would be to first create the sequence(s) in a sketch-like quality and to refine the frames later on. This strategy would also provide you with an option for when you find yourself with lack of ideas(and/or input) as for what to draw, since you can take older sketches and refine those or even continue some older sequences if an inspiration strikes you. As for the Art Bundle, that is a good idea. It would perhaps be prudent to subdivide the bundle, both chronological and by series, into folders/pages. Also you need to consider how you handle later additions. A solution would be to collect all your works from a span of several months(at the moment 4-6 months would be a good choice) in a bundle and then start a new one. You could also make seperate bundles of your progression images for those interested. As for the removal of older art you should think about what you are going to do with the comments. Do you want to conserve them or shall they be deleted?

It'd also be nice it watch the general art streams if we can't watch it live.

The bundle is an interesting idea and I'm ok whit it. But why remove older arts from patreon? And if you insert a webpage in the bundle, can we download the images for save them in our folders? And for quality vs quantity, maybe you could shift from one to other? (just an idea)

Would you consider doing your tutorial stream on Livestream.com, instead of Furstream? One thing I don't like about Furstream is that it doesn't save videos posted, so I can't replay them later, which I'd like to do with any tutorials you post. That's just my opinion though.
