Hostel and Apartment Stays

So for my first day, I chose this place because it’s close to the onsen. The hostel is called Cheese Hostel. and I got a rate of 25 USD per night. They also have bunk beds available, but I went for a private room with my own bed.

The room was very clean and well-maintained, though it has a vintage wooden heater. It comes with AC, a desk, a chair, a bedside lamp, Wi-Fi, towels, and toiletries as well.

After I thought about it, I realized there’s actually no bathroom inside the room—haha, I thought there was! The toilet and shower are outside, right across from my room.

Outside the room, there are also lockers—perfect if you want to store your sandals or anything else.

Okay next!!

The next day, I moved to an apartment near the airport called L CONDOTEL. The check-in process was pretty simple—just show your passport and leave a deposit of 1,000 pesos (about 18 USD). The nightly rate was 31 USD.

The lobby is quite comfortable and clean. On this floor, there are plenty of restaurants, a 24-hour mini market, and more.

So this is an apartment building, but certain floors can be rented daily like I did—mine was on the 16th floor. The check-in process is a bit strict, with things like an X-ray scan. The other floors are for regular residents, not travelers like me.

So once you reach the 16th floor, there’s another reception desk right by the elevator, ready to help with anything you need.

Let’s head into my room. You’re greeted first by the kitchen area, which has a water heater, sink, drinking water, tea, a fridge, and more. But… I was looking for a stove—where is it? I saw one in the photos.

After rummaging through all the kitchen cabinets, I realized there wasn’t a single cooking utensil or stove. Confused!! Finally, I asked the staff and found out there’s a separate room for cooking. Alright then!

Right next to the kitchen, there’s the bathroom, and this is what it looks like. It’s clean and stocked with soap, shampoo, a toothbrush, and toothpaste. However, when I tried to take a shower, the water heater didn’t work—no idea why.

Next, let’s move on to the living room. There’s a long sofa, a desk with a chair, a TV, and a table.

This is actually a Chinese apartment, so there are lots of Chinese residents here. Even the TV is in Chinese!

Let’s head to the bedroom!

Inside the wardrobe, there’s also a towel kimono.

And here’s the balcony, with a view overlooking the pool.

Now I want to show you the shared kitchen! Here, there’s a stove, various pans, plates, bowls, and more. There’s also a washing machine available if you want to do laundry (paid service).

Let’s check out the shared facilities like the pool and gym, which are located on the 5th floor.

So far, I’d rate Cheese Hostel 8/10 and L Condotel 7/10.

Alright, next…
