The fact that he's purposefully using dreams to send his innie messages definitely points towards that being the case

On the computer screen in the dream first you see numbers 1-5-7 then they change to the letters A E G N which spells Eagan. He already suspected Helly was a fraud but the dream gave him the answer of who she is. Irv has to be a detective or investigator on the outside cuz he is highly intelligent. Irv is the only one who's outie was already having dreams of the inside and was already investigating Lumon without being reintegrated and his innie was also already having dreams of the paintings his outie was doing. So his outie and innie were already still subconsciously connected despite the severing. I imagine if Irv ends up reintegrating, it will probably work much faster and better on him than anyone else. Normally reintegration is slow and takes time, thats why we didnt see any of Marks reintegration effects until later in the episode. Its not an immediate process. But it might be different for Irv. There is something about Irv, whether it be intelligence or intuition, that the severing was not able to cut and might make reintegration for him even better if he does it What if Irv was already investigating Lumon BEFORE he started working there. What if he became severed so he could investigate them from the inside. I saw a comment that based on what we saw in Irvs house, it appears that Irvs outtie intentionally stays up late at night, drinks coffee, plays loud music, and paints to send messages to his innie. Also, Irv's last line "hang in there" might be code cuz theres a poster in the breakroom that says "hang in there". Irv might have left something there cuz he knew that eventually he'd be fired
