rob is correct about the quality being higher. harry potter didn't look that great in the first movie, it looked a bit better in the second one and it finally started looking good in the third one. these movies cleared everything else at the time, hence the oscar records that still stand and will probably stand for a long time

We find out in the Fellowship of the Rings that he and his kin were killed by the goblins and Orcs. It was his remains the Fellowship finds in the Tomb. Also Gimli is the son of the red head dwarf from the movies. If you remember he shows Legalos photos of his wife and a very young Gimli prior to Bilbo freeing them the Elves. Also Bilbo is considered a hero to the Elves and Dwarves because of his role in stopping the War of the 5 Armies. He is welcomed in any of their cities.

ROP is not a prequel to this, it's not a prequel to anything, 90% of it is made up shit. Watch these movies for what they are, don't think about ROP, it will only confuse you more. Enjoy these movies for what they are and accept the fact we still don't have a good prequel series/movies. Also, the remastered versions are very controversial in the community, they are not true proper remasters. These remastered editions have lost the original spectrum of colors, there's a tint of green color in every single scene. White snow appears greenish, blue skies appear green, purple twilight sky appears green. Yellow colors appear very dark. The homes of elves, which are supposed to glow white and golden they appear almost green and grey. Even green colors are fucked, green grass in the Shire for example looks radioactive almost. Rivindel is supposed to look golden and the yellow trees are supposed to pop with so much color, yet in the remastered version Rivindel looks so dark at all times. It's all because of the green tint. Recently they tried to remaster it again, but they fucked up... AGAIN. They tried to fix the colors, except they used the remastered version as a base, which had the green tint. All the recent remasters are failures because they used the tinted version as a base, which had already lost color information. Lost color information cannot be brought back, so all remasters still look like shit. For example, in the re-remasters now there's too much white color in places where the green tint had ruined the original color. Yes, whoever worked on the re-remaster edition, had the bright (pun intended) idea to fix the green tint by replacing it with a white tint. Imagine getting paid for that. The reason why they used the tinted version as a base even for the recent re-remasters is because of money of course, it's easier to upscale something that's already digital. A proper remaster would need to use the original film as a base. Unfortunately we'll probably never get a true 4k version of these movies, unless they find some clever way to monetize them, which is going to be almost impossible, because they already used that strategy with these shit looking remasters, people won't buy them a third time because most people don't even know what the original movies look like, they don't know colors are missing. It's a shame. Do yourself a favor and watch the original 1080p not extended version if you've never seen it. The range of colors in these movies are something else, something you will rarely seen in modern movies, it also ads a lot to the atmosphere and the story telling.

It’s one of the main reasons why this trilogy is so beloved. On the flip it’s one of the reasons that the hobbit series didn’t hit the same as well for a lot of fans.

So I mentioned elves already but there’s also the wizards who are also immortal and like angels of the universe as someone else said. Then there’s the dwarves, which is why I’m commenting this, because pat tried to little man them pun intended. An orc war lord being killed by a dwarf isn’t an L, dwarves aren’t immortal but they aren’t men either. They live for long and are much stronger and have a connection to the “gods” of the LOTR original lore. There are many more but I don’t want to spoil, what they are and why they all exist isn’t relevant for watching the films so I’ll leave it there. P.s. them boys rob and jerry need to look into some type of sleeping routine. When they ain’t fighting off sleep with all their might, they’re waffling rubbish. I love y’all, but I gotta say it how it is.

By being a costume focused production with super limited CGI use things like the orcs in LOTR will always look great since its practical. Azog looks like a decent video game villain design, LOTR orcs are like actually creepy and scary looking.

2024-12-26 04:13:41 +0000 UTCeverytime i watch this movie I'm convinced that i've never seen a line delivery as sincere as Aragorn closing frodo's hand and telling him "I would have gone with you to the end". it feels like during that scene I'm so god damn immersed in the film. the viewers start to kinda gather this from both gandalf and galadriel's warnings that he cant trust anyone not even his friends, but despite those warning you can't imagine frodo going solo because frodo going to Mordor alone is so farfetched and doomed to fail that it almost makes more sense for him to roll the dice with the fellowship. but then Aragorn's delivery of "I would have gone with you to the end" and telling him to go accomplishes hitting the feels, shows what kind of man he is, and also changes the course of the ENTIRE story. at that moment your mind just has to drop all the preconceptions of what this journey was going to be like for the next 2 movies, everything you've spent the last 3-4 hours building in your head, and you are just left feeling the exact same fear, unease, and uncertainty that frodo feels followed by the pure resolve to step up against all odds. It's just magnificent.
