Yeah it’s not a hax sword it only has one use, it’s just the timing and the fact it was never built up and used to beat him was a dues ex machina. Yeah it works well, kubo integrated it really well. It was just so sudden and kind of an ass pull to beat Lille.

That sword isn't all that much of a hax anyway cause it ONLY works on gods. It was actually well written cause I always wondered where her sword was and now this explains why she's a master at Kido, cause she has priest blood in her.

2024-12-16 10:05:06 +0000 UTCThe thing with Nanao is that she never needed to fight with a sword because, one, she already had a zanpkauto that Shunsui was keeping from her, and he would never put her in a position where she had to fight as he was always protecting and shielding her from it all. This was her first time actually getting cut. This fact was also thrown in our faces during the FKT arc, where all lieutenants were there except Nanao. I like Shunsui's character. When he got the letter from Central 46 saying he was the new Head Captain, it gave more depth to why Shunsui said, "Give me a break." It was like his brother and sister-in-law all over again but in a slightly different way. Yamamoto dies and leaves him his most precious thing, "The Gotei 13," which Yama founded.

Mind you every episode in Cour 3 has gotten over a 9/10, literally the highest scoring season of anime, some episodes even topping the best OP episodes and WE NOT even at the CRAZY parts yet. In one season it consistently got higher scores than OP and even has higher scores than Cour 1 and 2 I can sit here and debunk his argument which is wrong lmao you’re not gonna tell me something that isn’t true, have your opinions but don’t get mad at me for speaking the truth

I judge anime at times on if it makes me want to watch it again right away but I haven’t hit that feeling for the majority of this season. This why I respect shows like HxH that explain the power ups and story threads in a not ass pull way

Animation wise I’ll give it to you but in terms of visuals, direction, character dynamics, foreshadowing, nuances, lore, poetic and thematic depth etc Shunsui’s Bankai was more anticipated than OP this year. Cour 4 is gonna blow these cours out of the water that’s where the meat of the arc lies. Plus Bleach had been the most consistent for just one cour

2024-12-15 23:59:07 +0000 UTCYo Wellz Fun Facts: both Katen and Kyokotsu spirits from Shunsui they first showed up in the Zanpaktou Rebellion Filler Arc so thier designs are 100% cannon 🤟 which by the way the Zanpaktou Rebellion Arc is considered Bleach's best Filler since it shows off everyone's Zanpaktou spirit personas including BIG RUUUUUUUKKKK's Sode No Shirayuki who's design is straight up what Rukia's Bankai form looks like and Renji's Bankai also has big design inspiration from spirit form Zabimaru... also... Hisagi's Zanpaktou, Kazeshini is the most savage looking one with the Black Demon with Chains and Scythes it's really sick lookin

So Nanao, his lieutenant is his niece which is dope. Love their relationship, he's always there for her and protects her. Lille Barro design was trash last time but they did him even dirtier this episode lol. Felt good hearing Soundscape To Ardor.

Even within this arc it happens again, Yamamoto and Jushiro died leaving him with even greater responsibilities. When you think about his actions, his willingness to do whatever is necessary, it makes much more sense now, for him he has to win because he carries those deaths and responsibilities with him as best as he can. (The concept of him sharing the burden of responsibility instead of taking it on all by himself was impressively expressed through his moment with Nanao) - Kubo tends to have lore in mind long before it's revealed. This is why Nanao wasn't shown in fights, she doesn't even have a named Zanpaktou and if you recall her moments in the Soul Society arc, she didn't even carry a blade with her even when the restrictions were lifted (le In a story where the strength of the Zanpaktou is primarily how one's strength is judged, it's obvious that Kubo not showing hers meant something was being set up. It's more likely that Lille was made in part to delve into this plotline) - Sidenote: Additionally Nanao's last name is "Ise" which is likely in reference the famous Ise Shrine in Japan. It's a landmark with deep historical and religious importance - Sidenote 2: It was way back in April of 2007, Chapter 158 that we learn about Shunsui Hairpin and the Kimono from bonus pages in the manga. It's only of note because many don't know that Kubo tends to invent characters with tons of lore but he picks and chooses when to reveal it(sometimes he just keeps it tucked claiming "it's a secret"). The Content covered here happens in chapter 652, a long way away from 158. Lille's defeat was foreshdowed in Senjumaru's bankai when he got trapped and all of his shots got reflected. Nanao's Zanpakuto named Shinken Hakkyoken translates to Divine Sword, Eight Mirror Sword and that part bankai he was trapped in has 8 mirrors. Pernida on the other hand, got swallowed by black sand. He fought Korutsuchi which translates to black soil.

Only one to compete with BLEACH is One Piece but shoot I'd argue Bleach has been more consistent in one season with back to back low to high 9/10's.

Kyōkotsu (also nicknamed Okyō) is one half of the manifested spirit of Shunsui’s Zanpakutō, who’s known for hide & seek games, and therefore hid the Ise clan’s sacred ritual sword. The Divine Zanpakuto SHINKEN HAKKYOKEN (Divine sword eight mirrors) It is a Holy sword that has the ability to take and reflect the power of deities into itself and disperses it off into eight directions. The blade itself reflects the power of the opponent that its wielder is facing; when confronted by the sword while utilizing a great enough power, opponents are unable to even see it due to how bright it appears to be at the time. A blow from the sword results in energy being dispersed in multiple directions at once. This ability was foreshadowed upon Lille Barro with Senjimaru’s Bankai which showed him shooting at mirrors and ended up shooting himself reflected upon him. Tragically as Nanao’s mother believed and assured that only members of the Ise clan would be affected little did she realize that the curse affects anyone in related association to them such as his brother, and would go on to affect everyone precious to him:, Yamamoto, Unohana and Ukitake.
