Lucy's magic power is summoning spirits, so she gets full credit for whatever the spirit king does because that is literally her magic power. It clearly takes a tremendous amount of skill and magic even to be able to summon him in the first place. Also, let's not forget the enormous price she had to pay to summon him. She gave Aquarius away. She's not dead, but she may as well be, considering Lucy will never see her again. Imagine saying goodbye to someone you love dearly and knowing you will never see them again. Of course, she's going to cry. Plus, that power she gained was what Aquarius left for her. The king only explained what it was and where it came from. She was thanking him for the help, even though it was her magic that allowed him to be there in the first place. Jerry is over here making fun of her for crying or just talking shit, and it's annoying cuz, as a Fan, he should understand the hardships and pain behind every sacrifice they had to face. You say she's over-sexualized, and it is true, but so are Mira, Cana, the female demons, and many other female characters in the show. Yet you don't even mention any of them because your hate is only focused on Lucy. When you gave a shout-out to the king, it was clear you were saying that the only reason Lucy won was because of him. which is not true. She SUMMONED him! It was HER magic power that brought him there in the first place! You whine about her crying or having too many feelings, but so does Wendy. Again, you don't mention that either. I see how summoned spirits may look like an assist, but they're Lucy's powers. True, she's not wielding them like weapons, and they have their own will, but they're still feeding off of her magic. Even though she's not participating in the fight, she's still accumulating fatigue and damage. Lucy's power is the equivalent of Naruto summoning his toads and Song Jin Woo summoning his shadows in Solo Leveling.

Anytime Natsu has consumed ethernano you could consider that as an assist if we go by your logic Jerry. So the power-up was not given to her from the celestial spirit king. The only reason why Lucy thanked him was because he gave her words of encouragement.
