2023-08-26 23:09:51 +0000 UTCThis movie is technically apart of the MCU even though they retconned some stuff later on because of Mark taking over the role. But as you can see , they clearly planned for Ed's Hulk to be the Hulk going forward. I like Mark but a part of me will always wish we had gotten more of THIS because I am not too happy with the direction they took Hulk. This movie was a very solid start to what could have been a GREAT franchise.

2023-08-26 15:31:20 +0000 UTCI believe that the reason why Hulk was typecast was that Edward Norton wanted creative control and was arguably a bigger star than RDJ at that time. Since both actors are/were considered expensive, hard to control and dramatic on set - it made little sense to keep both. I also think that not recasting Edward Norton was a good message to send to all the other stars: That they were willing to fire people if there were disagreements... even if Edward Norton was actually happy with leaving the project prior to the MCU going mainstream. It ended up working out for everyone involved.
