It's seen as the debut that changed the course of girl group music in Korea and known as "the nations song" It's one of the most covered songs of all time and is still seen in most companies as a requirement to master the song to be able to debut. 95% of gg trainees will have to perform it in an evaluation as some point in their late trainee stage.
