Podcast for this week
Added 2021-01-04 19:28:00 +0000 UTCIn aide of the podcast this week, I am asking for questions and anyone who would wish to participate in a discussion around fanfiction. You do not have to be a reader to take part and I am happy to discuss anything you wish.
Please comment below any questions you have or if you would are interested in participating. Access to zoom is all that is required and I'm happy for anyone who wishes to to remain anonymous if they wish.
This gives me the opportunity to interact with you all on a more personal level, so please do submit a question.

Are there any particular fanfics or books you read that got you interested in writing yourself? And any that you read that you draw inspiration from currently?

Regarding questions, what limitations do you think should be applied to certain types of magics like blood magic, rituals, and the fidelius? Where do we/should someone draw the line? I've read some stories where Harry uses blood magic and parseltongue to ward all of his trunks and properties to be unbreachable, or use elves to add the fidelius charm onto all of his properties. What would keep everyone from doing the same? If Harry can do it, so should most other people. How far does someone's blood magic interact with other people? For example, could Harry have used a blood magic based ritual to find who put his name in the goblet of fire and extract a punishment from them? Could he apply his own blood to someone else's wounds to keep them from healing? Where do we draw the line with these types of magics? How far do you plan to develop other types of magic? Mind magic is another huge grey zone with hundreds of other questions and variables attached.
