How to Create a Map System

I remember when I created the map system for VoM I found it SUPER frustrating how abundant MINIMAP tutorials were, but there was very little information on full map systems and how to build one. So I took the knowledge I had from the minimap and just expanded it to make it work as a fully fledged map system as well.
