Day 73: 90 Days to a Full Steam Release

Day 73 is here already!

I'm not sure where the time is going! We're making tons of progress but we're confident now that we won't have a fun & juicy playable demo ready for Next Fest.

We're very proud of the game so far and think it needs a little more than 90 days to become all it can be; so we're going to give Samurado the love it deserves and make it into the awesome game experience we know it can be.

Here's what's new since our last update:

- A good part of how I originally programmed the Upgrade system was...bad. So that got re-worked and it's much nicer now. And the game doesn't bug out when you've capped out your stats anymore...And the numbers that are displayed are actually accurate! lol

- Treasure rooms have been added! Each floor will have a pre-determined number of 'Treasure Rooms.' With a randomized chance of up to 4 treasure chests.

- The 'Test' Treasure chests in EVERY room are gone.

- Instead, now you earn a Reward (either a stat upgrade, or a chest) each time you clear a room of enemies.

- Rooms lock you in when you enter them, so you are FORCED to fight enemies

- Various sound FX and Screen shake effects have been added

Here's what's coming next:

- A 'Wave Spawner' system, so this boring nonsense of 1 of each enemy type getting spawned in in EVERY room will be improved, and I'll add the option to have multiple 'waves' of enemies per room before the doors unlock.

- Actual player death will be implemented, to give you access to the HUB area.

- In the HUB area, you'll be able to spend your currency on permanent upgrades.

- And after that, I'd like to create the 'Time Trial AI' that you'll be racing against (if you beat him to the exit of any floor, you'll get your next 'belt' - which is a pretty awesome permanent upgrade to the player. 

- The race will emcompass a whole bunch of things, the player will need to know 'where they stand' so to speak in the race, so a mini-map will likely be added so you can tell how you're doing in the race. And enemy health bars will likely be added so you know how close you are to clearing the room you're in.

- And after that, it'll be about creating an actual level progression system that let's you actually enter the exit and move onto a newer, harder, dojo.
