Sound Effects for Samurado's Walk
Added 2023-05-04 15:01:33 +0000 UTCI'm adding more sound effects this morning. Our Samurado character doesn't have feet or legs, but I feel as though he should have SOME sort of walk sound effect.
Should I add normal footstep sounds? Or something else i haven't thought of yet...something squishy sounding perhaps? Or do you think no sounds are needed at all?

IMHO you need some type of particle effect at the base of the Avocado to enhance movement. Perhaps a small guacamole ooze with a very subtle slime type noise. It could be a short-lived line renderer/trail effect that extends with Samurado's variable movement speed. (Kind-of like the opening part of Dead Cells when you're a blob.)

2023-05-05 14:04:58 +0000 UTCI think low volume slightly irregular footstep sounds are fine, and can add to the atmosphere. One of my fave old games (that has inspired my own main game) Knytt Underground has delicate little tip-tap sounds which are really quite cute and soothing. Perhaps slightly noisier ones on certain surfaces might be good?
