Your Dreams Are Closer Than You Think — Embrace the Power of Choice

Every day holds within it a quiet invitation: the invitation to choose differently. To take a step, however small, in the direction of your dreams. It doesn’t require grand gestures or sweeping changes, but it requires intention. The kind of intention that says, "Today, I will choose one thing that leads me closer to who I want to become." WOAH. Now that's powerful.

I’ve been reflecting on this idea myself—what works for me, what doesn’t, and how even the smallest adjustments, made consistently, can alter the entire trajectory of my life. Like a plane, going off course, but to somewhere unexpectedly more beautiful! (Like the Galapagos islands, I've always wanted to see those huge tortoises!!) Something I’ve been doing is journaling every day, documenting those moments where I’ve found clarity, where a choice, a habit, or even an attitude shifts something within me. Does waking up early help me feel centered? Yes, it does. So, I write it down. Bit by bit, I’m rediscovering that if something doesn’t serve me, I have the power to let it go. And that, in itself, is freedom.

We have this extraordinary gift: every single day is a fresh start. You don’t need to wait for a new year, a new season, or some arbitrary moment to begin again. The power lies in your hands, right now, to reshape your reality—no permission needed from anyone, least of all yourself. This is how we claim ownership of our lives—not in a rigid, controlling way, but in a way that allows us to choose what nourishes us, what uplifts us, and yes, what no longer serves us. It’s akin to minimalism: making room for only the things that truly matter, and gently releasing the rest.

A thought that wandered through my mind: Let’s have a spontaneous, almost whimsical evening together—an impromptu "romantic" night where we pretend the power has gone out. We’ll light candles, speak in soft, intimate tones as if the storm outside can hear us. In these moments, as the days grow colder and darker, let’s cultivate warmth and gratitude within our hearts. Let this space, this community, be our collective home—a place to return to, to nourish our spirits, to share creative, new ideas. This holiday season, no one will be alone. Not on ol' felka's watch here ;D

I always get a little spiritual as the winter draws near. There’s something about this season that invites reflection, a return to the natural rhythm of the world. It’s a time to reconnect with a deeper part of ourselves—perhaps even the whimsical sacred forces that have always watched over us. This winter, I’m committing to journaling and meditating more than ever, grounding myself as I prepare for the year ahead.

Let’s walk into this season together, with open hearts, grounded minds, and an unwavering belief in the possibility of new beginnings.
