In an effort to be fully woke but without going wholly broke, the film writers (sic….) have decided that box office is the better part of objectification, and have overcome their delicate modernist scruples in favour of filling seats in movie theaters. Yes, it’s time to get Thor naked. And chained up. And whipped.
When the question of the sexual objectification of a man was raised they agonised over it for a long time (well, more than two nanoseconds, anyway) because of the pristine purity of their Hollywood principles – but having fired the writer who raised the problem they felt much better about it and decided to go ahead anyway. “After all,” as one noted, “it worked with Dolph Lundgren as He-Man back in ’87; I mean EVERYONE remembers that scene….”
“Sure thing; and it’s certain to draw in the crowds, even if the real Thor’s now a woman. So all we’ll be doing is showing how unworthy he is – as a male, obviously – by stripping, chaining and whipping him. It’s art – and good woke-points AND good box office too! What could possibly go wrong?”
But no-one had expected that, when the lash fell onto his (formerly) godlike body, Thor would react in so very obvious a way. Writhe, struggle, grimace, cry out – even fall to his knees and beg – these they had anticipated. After all, he was being given a hard time – in fact, as it turned out – a VERY hard time, and that in the most outstanding and impossible to ignore kind of way…
“Uhh… well, THAT was unexpected …. I guess we can edit it out, can’t we..?”
“Do we have to…?”
