Yep you fully clocked me that i didn’t recognise Naomi from OUAT and she was the one that was recast. Whoops… I’ll give you the point still I like that they gave us the scene with Richard and Addison as her leaving scene rather than doing it as part of the Greys episode. Nice clean break into a new thing. The only thing i can find on why Naomi was recast is “Creative Differences” so that can mean pretty much anything. Probably just how they felt about chemistry between actors if i had to guess. Seems like OUAT did half of their casting by watching this show… Can’t focus on these scenes though with her accent and just general vibe. Very jarring when compared to Zelena. I think while yes they should probably have been consulted before they hired Addison, it seems a bit weird that they’re taking it out on her. As far as we can tell they didn’t have an OB/GYN that she’s replacing and they have Dell who is training to be a midwife so clearly they need someone to do that job. Made for a nice moment at the end though. I definitely think it’s weird to want the dead man’s sperm and kinda weird how much Naomi and Sam are pushing for it… Feels like it should fall under some desecrating a corpse law. This man must have amazing DNA though for his sperm to be so wanted even by his ex wife. Ok first episode i think. It’s always tough to start a show with one of the characters being already established. I think it could easily have become exclusively the Addison show and they did a decent job of introducing the other characters properly and trying to make us care about them while still having her as the main character.

2025-07-02 16:26:33 +0000 UTCOh, i love Private Practice. I also love Addie and Richard's relationship. I am not actually sure why they recast Naomi, maybe someone else knows. Charlotte!! Yeah, i agree, about it being rather disturbing to want the sperm of a dead person. Pete and Addie do amuse me. I do love Coop and Violet helping Violet's patient, it shows that even if they are both a mess in their personal lives they are amazing at their jobs. I love Addie's speech sooo much.
