Development news.

  

It’s been while since I posted any news. Had a lot of work to do.

Well, here I am, making up for that.

Interface.

It took us a lot of time to make it and, frankly, I can’t say that I’m completely content with the final result. I’ve never done anything like that before and, well, I’m doing the best I can.

That’s how our main menu looks now :

  And that’s our in-game menu:

The icons in the in-game menu appear from the drop-down menu you can openby clicking the main character’s portrait (which also is the indicator of your current HP). On the right side of the screen we have the indicator of time and your current amount of money.

It probably doesn’t look very professional but, just so we’re clear, it’s the best I can do at the moment.

The work on the interface of inventory, journal and stats is still ongoing.

Soundtrack:

In the fall, we bought four tracks but upon testing the first build of the game, we came to a conclusion that we’d need one more, which will be the main theme of the game, with a more neutral sound to it. We also keep looking for background sounds and implementing them in the game to amplify the effect of immersion.

Visual aspect:

We have 320 renders and one small animation. One more is still yet to be done. Overall, I have to work for about one more week to finish all the content that I want to release in the 0.1 version.

Code:

I’ve said a long time ago that the prologue is finished. We’ve been mainly working on interface and fighting system. We still need to create a gallery (Memories), which will be separated into three categories: achievements, game scenes and bonus art. It’s possible that gallery will be introduced in 0.2 (that’s if we won’t be able to make it by 0.1). At the moment there’s still a lot of coding left to do. Thankfully, it needs to be done only once. This is the backbone of our next project. 

Events:

The first version of the game will be artificially limited to seven game days. That will be enough to take a look at our game and assess our ideas and their prospects, as well as see all the planned events. 

Script:

A lot of stuff is ready,and we can’t evenkeep up with our writer (which is a good thing). The story will be interesting, the writing is good.

Regarding release dates, I still plan on releasing the 0.1 in April.
